The Regional Museum of the Mujahid Colonel Mohamed Chaabani of Biskra is entrusted with the following main missions:
- Collecting and recovering historical and cultural collections related to the Popular Resistance, the National Movement and the National Liberation Revolution.
- Conducting inventories of historical collections in accordance with the legislation and regulations in force.
- Ensuring the conservation, maintenance and security of the collections.
- Organizing permanent and temporary exhibitions for the benefit of the public.
- Hosting and supporting activities and events held on the occasion of national celebrations and commemorations.
- Recording first-hand testimonies from historical actors, particularly the moudjahidine, in order to preserve the national memory.
- Preparing and publishing publications, either on a regular basis or on the occasion of national commemorations and events.
- Making the library collections accessible to the public, particularly students and university professors and researchers.
