It highlights the various national currents and organizations that, from the beginning of the twentieth century, contributed to strengthening political awareness among Algerians, defending their national rights, opposing colonialism, and advocating freedom and sovereignty.
The space also presents key milestones and prominent national figures who played a significant role in the course of political and intellectual struggle, as well as the contribution of associations and reformist and cultural movements to preserving Algerian identity, the Arabic language and Islamic values, while strengthening the sense of national belonging.
The historical documents, photographs, publications and testimonies displayed in this space illustrate the transformations undergone by the National Movement and its gradual evolution from political and reformist demands towards the adoption of the struggle for independence, culminating in the outbreak of the glorious National Liberation Revolution on 1 November 1954.
This period represents a fundamental stage in the development of national consciousness and the prelude to a long struggle that culminated in the restoration of national sovereignty and the achievement of independence.
